Is blogging dead?

Do people still read blogs?

Should you have your own blog?

I’ve seen the articles with these titles. And honestly, I feel its a bit discouraging to the new writers on this platform. Hell, to new writers period.

We catch on to things at different times. So for the new writers here and online in general, I’m here to say, yes people still read.

And I can prove it.

Social Media

Let’s take Twitter. Over the past couple years I noticed how Twitter has become sort of a micro blogging platform by the use of threads. For those that don’t know, a thread is a series of connected tweets by one person via twitter.com.

I’ve read up to 5 tweet threads that could easily equal a two minute post here on Medium. What keeps me reading those tweets is wondering what the next tweet will say. And finding out the end to the story.

Threads have become more popular recently. I’m seeing more people use them as story telling tools and ways to market and promote their brands.

Instagram and LinkedIn are also being used as micro blogging platforms. Instead of one sentence captions, I’m reading what could be considered a half page of content on what…
