This one scene from Ted Lasso is all you need to know in dealing with an Ex

Every so often you hear words that cause for a mic drop. Maybe its because of something you went through or are currently going through. At any rate, I found such a scene in the Apple Tv Original, ‘Ted Lasso’.

Per wikipedia, Ted Lasso is an American sports comedy-drama about Lasso, who is hired to coach an English soccer team in an attempt by its owner to spite her ex-husband.

This said owner is Rebecca. (Actually pictured in the gif above.)

There’s a scene in Season 2, Episode 10 where Rebecca is speaking with her mother about the difficulties after leaving her now ex-husband Rupert.

“You think I wasn’t scared leaving Rupert? I was terrified. And rightly so because being alone is f*cking horrible. But it’s been necessary. Cause its actually started to feel rather wonderful.”

“Well I’m glad to hear that. Besides Rupert was a self-righteous sh*t,” her mom replied.

“Then why are you so nice to him?”

Here we go with her mothers response:

“Because my darling the best way to deal with people like that is to make sure they know they can’t get to you.”
