Robert Greene Was Angry When He Wrote His First Book
Turning emotions into powerful writing
In the late 80’s..90’s, I worked in Hollywood. Saw a lot of hypocrisy. Saw manipulative people. ‘Hollywood’ was supposedly about creating great art and making films. But it was really about power. Using people to get what you want out of them.

And from there a New York Times best seller was born. The 48 Laws of Power is easily one of the most influential books in history. It’s author, Robert Greene, felt compelled to write a book on how to maneuver in a world, in accordance to how manipulative and deceptive people operate.
Learning the true nature of what motivated most people in Hollywood — along with not seeing his own success in it — sparked an anger that was channeled in producing a book so powerful, some prisons have banned it.
How many books have achieved that?

What makes you feel sad?
Write that.
What gives you a sense of purpose?
Write that too.
No matter the emotions get to writing.
You never know what someone may glean from it.
