Survey says the average daily social media usage of internet users amounts to 147 minutes per day. That’s 2.45 hours. Times that by seven days a week. Then by weeks in a month. Then by months in a year. You get the gist.

That’s a whole lotta time we spend mindlessly in everyone else’s business. Because let’s be honest, our day to day lives are so real we have to escape in someone else's.

I’m not saying to neglect your screens. Limit your scrolls. But you got things to do don’t you?

Yes! Of course you do!

There’s literally no time my friends. Never mind social media. What’s going on in your head? What kind of thoughts are you having? Are they negative? Repetitive? Are they in the past?

You and I have sh*t to do.

Cool sh*t. Productive sh*t. Healing sh*t. Family sh*t. The sh*t we haven't’ thought of. All sorts of sh*t.

We’ve got plenty to do offscreen.

I write down what I gotta do on my whiteboard. It’s the coolest thing ever to me. Try getting yourself one and stick it on a free wall or fridge. Jot down reminders, quotes, things to do and look at it everyday.

When anger and bitterness creep into my spirit, I remind myself of the more important things I have to do, like being a mom. A good mom at that.

When my thoughts and emotions are filled with doubt and sadness, I remind myself to have more positive self talk and count my blessings. Things could always be worse.

We all have things we could do.

Whether they are for our inherent good, is solely up to us.
