Black men: Why aren’t women cooking and cleaning like they used to?

Black women: Because we’re tired. Tired as wives who are doing more than our fair share. Tired as single mothers doing it solo. The weight of managing a household, raising children is heavy. Over time it becomes taxing especially while doing it alone or with an inadequate partner.

In the midst of my marriage collapsing, mom warned me I didn’t want to be a single mother. I didn’t know what that meant. She had never been one thankfully. That’s one example I never had.

All I knew is that the marriage wasn’t working and eventually we’d have to go our own way. That was seven years ago. I’ve been dolo ever since.

I see the comments of how women are tired of doing it alone. The feeling is understood, however not my reality.

Here’s 5 reasons to why:

#1 Responsibility

Every person understands the possible outcomes of sleeping with someone without the use of birth control. An STD or unplanned pregnancy. Worse case scenario; both.

Knowing this, we gotta take responsibility for our actions. No child asks to be here but deserves the absolute best a parent can deliver. I take this responsibility seriously. I…
