65 million people die annually in the world. That averages to the number listed in the title of this post daily.

178,000 people worldwide die every day.

At 42 years old at the time of this writing, I’ve lived approximately 15,340 days thus far. Or, I have survived 15,340 days without being one of the 178,000.

Perspective is everything.

None of us know when the day will be our day. I try to remind myself of this in my moments of solitude. Moments of unhappiness or unease.

And for that reason and many others I choose:

To actively let go of things from the past.

Wake each day giving thanks for awaking.

To be as loving and giving as possible to those closest to me.

To be understanding.

Have new experiences.

Take risks.

Love God.

Serve.

Be compassionate and exercise empathy.

To see people, despite flaws, as people like myself.

The list goes on and on…..

In this current violent climate, a day lived is not only a day survived, but another chance to live again, to the fullest at its best.

So when my number is called, when I’m one of the 178,000, I have few if any regrets.
