My Newest Writing Tool: A Whiteboard

Every so often I get a hunch. The follow through never disappoints.

Last year a hunch told me to purchase a composition notebook and pack of pens. Turned out to be the therapy I needed.

This time, a conversation with my mom had sparked an idea. She mentioned us (myself, her, and my two son’s) getting a vision board to jot down goals and dreams. A vision board was something I’d seen other people do. Yet had never considered it for myself.

I know my goals and dreams. So why do I need to write them down when they’re in my head?

A couple of weeks ago the hunch hit. And on a Sunday, myself and my youngest were off to the craft store. We walked out with my first vision board.

At 17x23 its the perfect fit horizontally on my closet door. No nails or drilling needed. Just peeled the paper from the adhesive pads and voila.

For the writing part…

Anytime an idea strikes, I grab the marker included and jot down whatever is in my head. Post ideas, appointments, goals, to do lists..etc.

There’s something about writing standing up and being able to take a step back to read what has been written. I don’t know. It’s a feeling that is hard to describe.
