How a composition notebook and pack of pens became the therapy I needed

I’m a firm believer in timing. When the time is right a shift will happen. An idea will spark. That special someone will cross your path.

The universe is never wrong.

For years off and on, thoughts and questions lingered of why I am the way I am. Why I did certain things, etc. The opportunity to dig deep hadn’t come. Until I made my son’s barber appointment.

A few days prior a thought hit. Go to the dollar store, get a composition notebook, a pack of pens, and release it all. Any and every situation spanning from childhood to present day that affected me, would be written.

And that’s what I did.

After his appointment, we ventured across the street to the dollar store. Stuck to my $2 budget in getting one composition book, and a ten pack of pens.

After recording my first entry, it painstakingly became the most fulfilling, freeing thing I’d done to date.
