Book Review: Finding Me
There are some actors who are treasures before we know it. They fly under the radar to those who aren’t “hip” or paying real attention.
Actress Viola Davis is one of these treasures. Her role as Annalise Keating in How to Get Away with Murder, was my introduction to this incredibly talented woman.
Catching an interview of hers on The Breakfast Club promoting her new book, Finding Me, I found myself with the book in my hands within a week of the interview.
From start to finish, Ms. Davis chronicles her rough childhood riddled with poverty, abuse, and bullying to her ascent into Hollywood fame. Her humility and ability to be transparent in the telling of her story is what makes this book so page turning.
As Ms. Davis takes us on the ride to finding herself, the reader may be surprised if they receive clues to finding their self too. For that alone this book is one you won’t want to miss.
