How this NFL agent went from Wall Street to landing top draft picks to sharing how we can all advocate for ourselves
Black girl magic is the official phrase for black women trailblazers in politics, entrepreneurship, media, sports, or just being awesome, and Nicole Lynn is no exception.
This years’ Super Bowl LVII saw two firsts’: 1) Each team was headed by a black quarterback, and 2) A black woman representing a quarterback in the Super Bowl (Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts).
Enter top NFL sports agent Nicole Lynn.
Hailing from Tusla, Oklahoma, her parentless childhood in poverty was a catalyst in her drive to get up and get things done. At fourteen she taught herself how to drive, applied for enrollment to a gifted high school, and worked at Chick Fil A to help support her family.
While attending the University of Oklahoma, she took note how many athletes who came from similar backgrounds, became professionals earning millions, to later find themselves bankrupt. This planted a seed in her to work with athletes to ensure they maintained the riches obtained.
