A little over a week ago, a seventeen year old girl was pinned between two cars stemming from a speeding vehicle running a red light.

She was in town for a volleyball tournament, in her senior year with a college volleyball scholarship in the bag. And there she was, the victim of a man out on bond for robbery, who had repeatedly violated conditions of his bond prior to the crash.

The result?

He’s back in custody (where he should’ve been) while she had both legs amputated.

Just like that, this young lady’s life has flipped upside down over something so preventable.

But unfortunately, that is the unfairness and unpredictability of life.

We hear the words, “Count your blessings” and “It could be worse”. And while that is true we don’t see it until something bad happens. To us or others.
